About Me

Following a twenty-three year career as an art educator in  a range of settings, I went freelance in 2013, working in schools and museums as a professional cardboard artist.

Most of my projects are collaborations with children in Primary schools - I arrive with blank, hand cut cardboard shapes, which the children paint in groups of fifteen or so ideally. The finished pieces are assembled at home, then returned to the school for display. As well as in-school projects, I also make commissioned pieces at home - many of them large scale.

In my own practise, I paint from life and try to create works which show the processes of painting, seeing and looking. I'm working on large scale landscapes at the moment using loose brush work, focusing on colour, light, rhythm and balance.

I'm available for project work in schools and museums, including murals, scenery and 2D/3D cardboard displays. The process begins with a free site visit to see the spaces we'll be using, discuss ideas and make a plan. Other people's IP excepted, my mind is completely open! Let's see what we can create together.....
